Snapseed Fanatic: By Jay Lawrence Goldman
I am obsessed with my iPhone. It is amazing to always have this capture device on my belt. I am always looking, surveying, searching for patterns, shadows, moments. The ability to edit the photos on the phone opens up caverns of creativity for me.
The raw shot straight from my iPhone 4s is good, really good, but not great. All of the photos need a little adjustment. It can be as little as a crop, or as much as 5 or 6 filter effects. I have tried just about every photo App out there, and have come to the easy conclusion that Snapseed is pretty much all I need as far as a photo editing App on my iPhone.
Snapseed is fast and easy to navigate. It is very intuitive, and allows infinite measures of large or minute adjustments to make your images into pieces of art.
The following photos show the transformation of 2 ordinary photos from a walk about the neighborhood. Lately I have been cropping square, mostly to post to Instagram, and also because I shot with a square format Hasselblad for the first part of my career.

Here are the steps I used to edit this image. First, I cropped the image, and then used Center Focus.
Then, I used the Drama Filter and added a Border with “Frames.”

And here are the changes I made, first cropping and using the Grunge filter, and then adding a border with “Frames.”

This is very helpful/inspiring. More please. Thanks Whit
I agree, nice work!
I use my iPad for photo editing when I am tvearling, or just too lazy to carry a laptop. I’ll have to check this app out at some point. I’m digging the perspective and all the texture of the building.Chris Nitz recently posted..
