January Focus Tip: Selective Sharpening with Sharpener Pro 3.0 (Video)
To get the most out of Sharpener Pro 3.0′s Output Sharpener, selective sharpening is a must. Control Points allow you to control not only the amount of output sharpening applied to the photo, but also three different kinds of creative sharpening which can be applied to any object or area without the use of complicated selective tools. This tool allows you to apply or remove sharpening from any areas in your photo that may need either more or less sharpening than we wish to apply globally to the photo. This is helpful in numerous situations, for example, in some photos we may not want to add Sharpening to certain areas or textures, such as sky or skin. In some instances we may want to add more sharpening to a certain object to enhance it’s texture, or a certain area as using selective sharpening in this way can help to direct the viewer’s eye toward a particular area or object. This can be handy in a busy landscape, a complicated street photograph, a portrait, and almost any other photo where there is an area of interest for the viewer’s eye to focus on.
